Since all legal avenues–including appeals and a Supreme Court hearing–have been declined, this leaves two options for Ghassan and Shukri: clemency through Presidential sentence commutation determined by December 2024/January 2025 or a motion filing for compassionate release determined by a Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals judge in 2023-2024.
